Mid-Year Checkup: Is your 2024 Plan Working?

In January, we asked you how your plan for 2024 was, and now we are halfway in! However, a plan is not always perfect. As summer dawns upon us and bears the fruit of a hopeful tomorrow, so does the season of refinement. New Year’s resolutions turn into habits (or completely fade altogether!), flowers bloom into spring, and now the wonderful summer heat is a reminder to get to work! Below are three important questions you and your team should be asking yourselves:

But first a reminder – numbers are meaningless without proper interpretation. With the right tools and proper context, numbers are key indicators of your company or organization’s success and shortcomings.

Question #1

Where are you ahead in your plan in terms of quantitative and qualitative goals?

Best laid plans are ones that are attainable! If your team is ahead of your goals, this is the perfect time to refine and take note of how you achieved this success. As the saying of punctuality goes– if you are early, you’re on time! It is one thing to achieve early but it takes far more effort to maintain that momentum. Meet with your teams goals and continue to map where there is room to implement change to improve both efficiency and effectiveness

Question #2

Where are you behind in your plan?

Arriving late to your goals or underperforming on financial metrics is far more common than you would think! However, using this time to acknowledge why you might be experiencing shortcomings and brainstorming  with your team is essential to self correcting. With great focus and also great resiliency comes great results!

Question #3

How effective are your metrics and where can you fine tune them?

Lastly, defining your metrics and assessing their alignment with your goals is essential to understand how to correct the ship. Oftentimes the numbers chosen to define success aren’t truly the best way of measuring. Perhaps a combination of qualitative and quantitative goals would provide better insight.  This is a good topic to brainstorm with your team.  Please remember, the ultimate goal for your team is to identify where improvement is possible.

We hope that your 2024 plan is working and brings great results for you as a leader, and to your company. Our team is simply an email away should you need help!
